The Campaign for Andover Newton News

Building the Beloved Community, Transforming Ministry
On Convocation & Alumni/ae Day, May 18, 2006, Andover Newton announces the public phase of The Campaign for Andover Newton: Building the Beloved Community – Transforming Ministry.
Through this effort, ANTS will meet the goals of its Strategic Plan adopted December 2005. The Plan calls for a reinvigorated physical campus that is equipped to meet the challenges of contemporary theological education and the attainment of a new level of excellence institution-wide. This work is marked by a sequential, project-based focus.
A new chapel for ANTS is the current project of the Campaign for Andover Newton. Wilson Chapel (also known for the purpose of the Campaign as the Chapel Project) represents the first construction on campus in 45 years. Wilson Chapel will host weekly services across denominations. We eagerly anticipate the completion and dedication of the Chapel in spring 2007, as a gift in honor of the School’s 200th anniversary in 2007-2008. Moreover, its intended use as a hub for interfaith worship, dialogue, joint programs with Hebrew College, and other programming opportunities, will heighten our ability to advocate for and to model spiritual formation, as well as peace and justice.
The goal for the Chapel Project is $7 million. As of April 2006, $4,600,000 in gifts and commitments has been raised. Our goal is to raise an additional $2,400,000 by January 31, 2007. To speak with an ANTS Advancement officer, please call (617) 964-1100 x206. Won't you join us?
