IT Help Desk Worker, Andover Newton

The Andover Newton Information Technology Department is seeking an additional student worker to staff the IT Help Desk. Ideal candidates would be willing to start as soon as possible. All interested students are welcome to apply. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED AS NEEDED, but preference will be given to candidates who possess the following skills:

Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, strong sense of teamwork, attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Basic hardware/software troubleshooting skills, and an ability to research solutions if one is not present
  • Ability to carry or lift computer equipment as needed (~30 lbs.)

Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8), Unix, Microsoft Office, computer/printer/networking hardware, Remote Desktop Assistance (VNC/Remote Desktop)
  • Experience installing and (re)building computers, troubleshooting software, using a support ticketing system, and providing IT support over the phone
