Youth and Young Adult Ministry Studies
Andover Newton trains leaders for work with youth and young adults. This includes a variety of contexts, ranging from parish settings to college chaplaincies and beyond. ANTS students and auditors may take courses in Youth and Young Adult Ministry Studies at Andover Newton and through the BTI, and may pursue the BTI Certificate in this dynamic, emerging field.
In addition, students may work with youth and/or young adults through field education placements and off-campus service projects. Student participants in international travel seminars sponsored by ANTS and the BTI often study or serve among global Christian communities with increasingly younger populations.
In recent years, various Andover Newton offices have hosted events for confirmation classes, for youth mission and service groups, for college chaplains, and for persons interested in Hip-Hop and Faith, Taizé worship, and other new ways to worship and witness.
Through the BTI, ANTS cosponsored a seminal Costas Consultation on "Global Christianity and the NeXt Generation." ANTS faculty and staff help facilitate the BTI's Religious Education Studies Advisory Program (RESAP), a new resource for theological education, scholarship, churches, and community outreach.
