Planned Giving: Bequests
More and more of our donors are providing for Andover Newton in their wills. A bequest can be designated for a scholarship fund, program, building, the library, or to endow your annual gift. When revising your will, you should consult an attorney to help ensure that your bequest will be worded so that your wishes are carried out.
Bequest provisions can be added to your existing will through a codicil or can be made when you update your will. Andover Newton's recommended bequest language is as follows:
"I give to Andover Newton Theological School, a non-profit institution of higher education located in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, the following (amount of cash, securities or other specific asset, percentage of my estate, etc.), to be added to and administered as part of its endowment fund."
If you include a bequest to Andover Newton in your will and you let the School know, you will be invited to become a member of our Heritage Society. An Honor Roll of Heritage Society Members is published in our Annual Report. You can choose whether or not you want your name to appear on the Honor Roll.
