To equip leaders in congregations for church-based healing ministries that transform lives, congregations and communities toward greater wholeness and more faithful discipleship in the world.

The goal of this area is to connect theological, biblical, ethical and ministerial study to the challenge of establishing and renewing the public life of the church and civil society. The main goals of the area are:

To cultivate ministerial skills, virtues, and perspectives suitable for engaging these public spheres
- To promote theological, biblical, ethical, and ministerial understandings that may
foster greater justice, inclusiveness, social solidarity, and ecological responsibility
in public life

Worship, Theology and the Arts

The goal of this area is to revitalize Christian life and worship in and through the arts. It seeks to:
-
Integrate the arts (verbal, kinesthetic, and visual) into theological reflection

Extend the modes of "doing theology" to include the non-propositional or non-dogmatic artistic forms (e.g., symbol, metaphor, narrative, and image)
-
Strengthen students' skills for ministry in the areas of worship, planning, preaching, religious education, spiritual formation, and communication or expression of faith
